Setting up resume parsing

Resume Parsing requires:

  • Access to Sovren using a defined Salesforce Remote Site.

    The Remote Site definition is set up automatically when installing Recruit and granting access to third-party websites.

  • Valid entries in fields on the Sage People Recruit Configuration External APIs tab.

To set up Resume Parsing:

  1. Ensure Remote Site settings specify the correct URLs for connection to the Sovren service.

    Sovren URLs were changed in 2020 – check your org has the correct values:

    1. In Salesforce Lightning Experience go to Setup > Security > Remote Site Settings

      In Salesforce Classic go to Setup > Administration Setup > Security Controls > Remote Site Settings

    2. On the Remote Site Settings page find the Remote Site Names Sovren and SovrenEurope and confirm the associated URLs are as follows:

      For Sovren: https://rest.resumeparsing.com

      For SovrenEurope: https://eu-rest.resumeparsing.com

    3. If either of the URLs is incorrect, select Edit for the Remote Site Name you need to change and on the Remote Site Edit page enter the correct value in the Remote Site URL field, then select Save.

  2. Go to Setup > Apps > Packaging > Installed Packages.

  3. On the Installed Packages page find Sage People Recruit and select Configure.

  4. On the Recruit Configuration page select the External APIs tab.

  5. Scroll to the Resume Parsing section and check Use Resume Parsing and ensure the Resume Parsing fields contain valid values.

    Resume Parsing field content is supplied for your org by Sage People – if fields are empty, contact Sage People.

  6. If you are asked to supply the Resume Parsing Lock code to enable Resume Parsing, contact Sage People.

    Enter the code in the Resume Parsing Lock field on the External APIs tab; this field is only displayed if the code has not been entered.
